This is why most people charter with us. A beautiful stable platform to experience San Francisco bay from. A three hour cruise will take you past the Golden Gate Bridge, then down the city front. Then you will go across the bay behind Alcaltraz, ending up in the lee of Angel island, where the winds are usually calm and the temperatures become warm and soothing. After a rest and relaxation, it is followed by sailing up Raccoon straights past Belvedere and Tibiron on to home and home to Sausalito.

A trip to Angle island for hiking, biking or picnicking is a splendid way to spend part of your day on Cat Ballou. There are abandoned pre-civil war posts and World war II training camps. Angle Island was the Ellis Island of the west coast and entry point for thousands of immigrants . You can spend the night tied to one of their moorings and hike the 800' hill for your morning warm up. It is a great place to visit and one could spend 2 days exploring all Angle island has to offer.

The best part of sailing a catamaran is the feeling of openness outside. You have so much room. Room to walk around, a sense of privacy, and space.

Modern catamarans are capable of speeds in the double digits quite easily. They have a heeling angle of no greater than 5% with a very smooth motion. You can quite easily set your wine glass down on the cockpit table, and rest assured that it will not spill a drop while underway in the Bay. Given that Cat Ballou is 23' wide, she tracks like a locomotive.
